Northern Veterinary Clinic (NVC) opened its doors to the general public on September 5, 1995. Our first location was on #1 Guadalupe Street in Orange Walk Town, Belize, Central America. When we started, we rented the downstairs flat of a two-storey building from a land valuator and an ex-agricultural officer.
We presently have expanded our locality to occupy the entire flat of the building. The initial staff compromised of one veterinarian: Dr. Homero Novelo, and his secretary Miss Rosalva Sanchez. Later, another Veterinary was hired and since 30% of NVC clientele came from the neighboring town of Corozal, a branch clinic was opened there in April 1998.
There-on, investments went on vehicles since we were doing more field work dealing with large animals. Training sessions were conducted and we managed to get two veterinary assistants and another secretary.
Today, NVC provides services to the entire Northern part of the country of Belize and caters to both small and large animals. We service the cattle belt of Belize.
Our main objectives are divided into three categories, which are to provide security for homes and property through the caring and treatment of guard dogs; to bring happiness to the homes through the caring and treatment of pet animals, which make children happy, and teach issues such as health, sickness, death, love, etc. Finally, our third main objective which is to ensure food security for animals, in order to ensure a good supply of healthy milk, meat, eggs to meet the demands of a growing nation.
Today as NVC continues to grow and expand on its services, we pledge our continual hard work and dedication to the animal world here in Belize. We hope that with your continued support, NVC will meet its current goals in this new millennium.
